Qld: Anthrax properties to remain in quarantine for six weeks
BRISBANE, Jan 11 AAP - Two southern Queensland cattle properties will remain quarantinedfor the next six weeks as authorities try to contain an anthrax outbreak.
The outbreak has claimed 12 cattle at a property near Wandoan on the Darling Downs.
The beasts had been moved from a station near Dirranbandi, near the NSW border.
Since the disease was confirmed, officers from the Department of Primary Industry (DPI)have been decontaminating the two properties.
They have also been preparing a mass vaccination of the cattle herds at the two stations.
